The Esoteric Jacks of all trades, but Masters of none

In the spiritual and esoteric industry, there are many different avenues one can pursue to find guidance and enlightenment. These practices include but are not limited to Tarot, Astrology, I Ching, Runes, Palmistry, Hypnosis, Past Life Regression, etc.

I have come across many diverse people offering readings or divination services to the public, and just like any industry in existence, there will be professionals and there will be chancers who are just trying to make a quick buck. It is vital as a consumer of the esoteric and spiritual industry to be aware of the manipulative tactics that can be used to prey on a person’s vulnerability, and what to watch out for.

One can find much guidance and insights from the world of divination, and you can meet many advisers that can help you tremendously, but sometimes the practiser does not have pure intentions and can lead the client to become confused and even more lost than they felt before they consulted the professional.

Here are things to watch out for when seeking out professional esoteric services:

1. They practice multiple fields.

You will find that many practisers will have multiple fields and services they can offer. Some will offer Astrology, Tarot, Runes, Past life regression, etc, all in one! This is something to be careful of, as having thorough knowledge in a practice such as astrology or tarot can take many years to build. There are many diviners out there who have superficial knowledge in these fields and are not able to provide you with a truly professional service. If you are looking for a professional practiser, look for somebody who specializes in one thing, as they will be able to give you a lot more useful information than practisers who have little knowledge in a lot of various fields.

2. Computerized reports

Some people who practice divination do not give their personal insight and provide their customers with computer-generated reports. If it looks like your reading was done by a computer, it most likely was. Some of them also do not give personal readings, and they relay the information from another source. Anybody can read what something means online or in a book, the reason you are paying is to get a personal touch added.

3. Overpricing

Some readers charge way too much! It could be that a person might have an inflated ego and feel they are more professional or experienced than other people in the field. Some readers are very experienced, and in these cases high prices are warranted! A person who has been practicing the field for 5 years cannot charge the same as someone who has 20 years experience, yet some do. I have had a reading done for $20 that was better than a reading I paid $150 for. While I can agree that most practisers of divination can charge what they feel is right according to their experience, I do feel that some just shoot way too high. If you feel that the person is trying to rip you off, they most likely are.

4. False, mundane information

Just like in the world fake of psychics, you will get practicers who actually have no idea what they are doing, and they just feed you a whole bunch of made up information. If the reading sounds like they are just picking at ends for something, they most likely are, and they have no idea what they are doing.

5. Lacking intuition

From experience, I have learned that some people have stronger intuition than others, and this is usually what separates the fly-by-nights from the professionals. Intuition is not something that can be learned or taught and is something most people are either born with or not. If the practiser lacks intuition, the readin

g can feel meaningless.

As a lover of the esoteric and spiritual world, I am always supportive of all practisers of the field, and love to engage in these services myself. I do feel that in order for this industry to remain an honest and pure one, it is helpfull to be aware of the dishonest practices one can be faced with.
